Buttweld is to connect pipes and fittings ends by a butt welding process. Also known by welded pipe fittings. It has ended in beveled or plain, dimensions normally from 3/4” to 24”. Manufactured according to ASME B16.9. In various materials like carbon, alloy, and stainless steel.
Types for Butt Weld Fittings

Butt Weld Elbow
The butt weld elbow is designed to change the direction of the fluid in the piping system. It has a long radius (LR) and a short radius (SR) type and has different degrees covers to 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and 180 degrees. Buttweld elbow is a steel elbow formed by hot pressing or forging. Its connection form is to directly weld the elbow and steel pipe. Butt-welded elbows are mainly used for elbow with higher pressure and temperature than other connection types (socket welded elbow or threaded pipe elbow).
Butt Weld Tee
The butt weld tee (equal tee and reducing tee) has a 90-degree branch and a straight line pipe that will provide a connection to install another device for the pipeline systems. Buttweld tee is widely used in petroleum, aerospace pharmacy, chemical industry, metallurgy, electric power, military industry, engineering support, and other industrial pipelines.
Buttweld reducer tee
The same structure of the T shape, but the size of the 90-degree branch is smaller than the diameter of the straight-line pipe. Therefore to install a smaller size pipe or fittings. The branch diameter is smaller than the main diameter. The reducing tee is usually described as NPS diameters

Butt Weld Reducer
Buttweld reducer is a component used in the pipelines to reduce its size from large to small-bore in accordance with the inner diameter. The length of the reduction here is equal to an average of the smaller and larger pipe diameters. Here, the reducer can be used as a diffuser or a nozzle. The reducer helps in meeting the existing piping of varied sizes or hydraulic flow of the piping systems. It has two types: Concentric and Eccentric Reducer.
This reducer consists of the symmetrical and conical shaped fittings that enlarge or reduce the diameter equally about the centerline. For example, when 1” pipe transitions to ¾” pipe, then the top or bottom of the pipe do not remain level. It is widely used when single or multiple diameter changes.
A conically shaped fitting that reduces or enlarges the diameter, but it is not symmetrical about the centerline. This is used in pipe-work systems for reducing the diameter of a pipe from one size to larger or small size.
Butt Weld Cap
ButtWeld Pipe End Caps are usually welded to the pipe end or mounted on the external thread of the pipe end to cover the pipe fittings. To close the pipeline so the function is the same as the pipe plug.
Butt Weld Coupling
A coupling is a device used to joint two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power. Full Coupling: Joint two pipe or joint pipe to a nipple.
Half Coupling: Joint one end another end will be welded directly to the run pipe.
Butt Weld Nipple
The nipple is a short piece of pipe usually with threads in both ends, for connecting of two other fittings. The length of the nipple generally is specified by the overall length with threads part. Also, it may have a hexagonal section in the center for a wrench to grasp (we call hex nipple), or it may simply be made from a piece of pipe
Butt Weld Stub Ends
Lap joint stub end is a fitting that is used to replace welded flanges when the support of a rotating backup flange is required. And it can be supplied in standard and non-standard ANSI dimension that is used for connecting pipes of different diameter.
